Lecture Series – ‘Cinepoetics’

August 18, 2020/in News

The ‘Cinepoetics Lectures’, a collaboration between the Center for Advanced Film Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, and the Kino Arsenal (Institute for Film and Video Art), are open to the public and free of charge – and now also available online as audio recordings. Following the research center’s goal to explore the poetologies of the audiovisual image, the lecture series features perspectives from film studies, media studies and art. Available recordings include “A Trail of Blood. Women Directors and the Poetics of Horror” by Patricia Pisters, who guest edited our Spring 2020_#Intelligence issue, and Catherine Grant’s “The Poiesis of Cinematic Allusionism. Exploring Audiovisual Intertextuality in the Video Essay”. Listen to the lectures here.
