Lecture series – ‘bochumer kolloquium medienwissenschaft’

The online media repository media/rep/ has made several lectures from the ‘bochumer kolloquium medienwissenschaft’, held at the Ruhr-University Bochum, available online. The lecture series (2007-2014), featuring contributions from the fields of media studies, philosophy, sociology and history, aimed to address the cultural uneasiness concerning the technical-medial sphere and explore the systematic place of media and technical objects. How can we reflect on our technical-medial condition and its multiple possible futures? Among the currently available lectures are Jussi Parikka’s talk “An Alternative Deep Time of the Media: a Geologically Tuned Media Ecology”, Rosi Braidotti’s lecture on “Nomadic Feminist Theory In A Global Era” and Alexander Galloway’s “10 Theses on the Digital”.
