Conference – NECS Conference 2023 ‘Care’ call for papers online

From 13-17 June 2023, the next NECS Conference will be hosted by the University of Oslo, Norway. This year’s theme ‘Care’ invites cinema and media scholars to come together to think about care and its implications across film and media history and into the digitally mediatised cultures of the 21st century. The local organizing team – Steffen Krüger, Kim Wilkins and Adam Glazer – is currently accepting proposals exploring discourses of care in the media, media ethics, questions of sustainability, humanist and posthumanist perspectives on care, and more. Proposals (300 words) for individual papers, workshops and pre-constituted panels can be submitted until 31 January via the online submission form available here, the full call for papers can be found here.
