From 10-11 December 2020, the Leuphana University Lüneberg will be hosting the international workshop ‘Liquidity, Flows, Circulation: The Cultural Logic of Environmentalization’. Drawing on contemporary art, film, and literature, the workshop aims to investigate how spaces of circulation, flow and liquidity and their cultural representations are connected to the environmental era of capitalism. If we are indeed entering a new stage of capitalism, can we observe this transformation in the cultural logic? Can we speak of a logic – both real and imaginary – of liquidity, of flows, of circulation? Abstracts (max 500 words) for 30-minute paper presentations investigating both theoretical concepts and cultural (re)presentations in different media can be submitted until 15 August 2020. More information can be found here.
