Texture in Film symposium announces program
The provisional programme for the Centre for Film Studies symposium ‘Texture in Film’, 9 March 2013, University of St Andrews, has been announced. Registration is currently open for the event here. This symposium will seek to explore ways in which thinking about texture can reinvigorate discussion of film form across a variety of cinematic contexts, with particular emphasis on approaches drawn from understandings of texture originating in the study of visual art, music, and literature. The day will close with a roundtable event designed to extend the discussion. Katharina Lindner from University of Stirling will present the paper ‘Straightforward or Twisted? Queer-ing Phenomenal Space in Film’. Read Lindner’s NECSUS article ‘Questions of embodied difference: Film and queer phenomenology’ here.
