Open call for submissions: Features
NECSUS accepts abstract submissions twice per year for a wide variety of articles on a number of themes related to media studies but not necessarily connected to a special section topic. These submissions will be considered for the Features section, which is part of every journal issue. Articles in the Features section are full-length research articles and subject to double-blind peer review prior to publication. Please note that we do not accept full manuscripts for consideration without an invitation.
We accept abstracts until 1 May (for articles published in the following Autumn issue) and on 1 November (for articles published in the following Spring issue). Notifications are generally sent 2-3 weeks after the deadline. Manuscripts are due on 1 August (for the Autumn issue) and 1 February (for the Spring issue). Access our submission guidelines at http://www.necsus-ejms.org/guidelines-for-submission/.
We look forward to receiving abstracts of 300 words, including 3-5 bibliographic references, 4-5 keywords, and a short biography of 100 words at the following address: g.decuir@aup.nl. On the basis of selected abstracts writers will be invited to submit full manuscripts (6,000-8,000 words, revised abstract). We are also accepting proposals on a rolling basis throughout the year for festival, exhibition, and book reviews. Review articles are generally 2,000-3,000 words and subject to internal review by the section editors. Thank you in advance for your interest in publishing with NECSUS.
Update: We are not yet accepting feature submissions for our Spring 2021 issue.
