Online Conference – ‘Media and Publics’

From 28-29 April 2022, Roskilde University will be hosting the conference ‘Media and Publics’. Consisting of a mix of keynote lectures, panels and thematic sessions, the conference aims to explore the shifting notion of ‘publics’ or ‘the public’ from a both theoretical and methodological perspective. Confirmed keynote speakers include Nancy Fraser( Newschool New York), Noortje Marres (University of Warwick), Stefania Milan (University of Amsterdam) and Zizi Papacharissi, (University of Illinois-Chicago). Abstracts (500 words) can be submitted online via e-mail to Jannie Møller Hartley (jath@ruc.dk) until 15 November 2021. Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the imagination of publics in legacy media, the transformation of mediated publics in current media environments as well as methodological approaches to investigate these.
