From Media Hype to Twitter Storm

This week Amsterdam University Press publishes the edited volume From Media Hype to Twitter Storm: News Explosions and Their Impact on Issues, Crises and Public Opinion. Edited by Peter Vasterman, media sociologist and Assistant Professor Emeritus of Media and Journalism at the University of Amsterdam, the book brings together 31 authors from 11 different countries. The collection covers both theoretical perspectives and methodologies with regard to international hype and online storms, as well as case studies on national media events and crises.
