Lecture Series – ‘Media and Migration’
NECS and the Centre for Research in the Arts at Oxford Brookes will be co-hosting a monthly online lecture series on ‘Media and Migration’. Through five different lectures with a specific focus on methodology, the series proposes a shift from media narratives and the politics of representation to the methodological and epistemic issues related to research on mediated migration. After the first online lecture, titled “Decentering The Default: Reflections on Migration and Method”, by Radha S. Hegde, the next lecture will be given by Sandra Ponzanesi (Professor of Media, Gender and Postcolonial Studies, Utrecht University) on 25 February. Martina Tazzioli (Lecturer in Politics and Technology, Goldsmith University), Kevin Smets (Assistant Professor of Communication Studies, Vrije Universiteit Brussel) and Myria Georgiou (Professor of Media and Communications, London School of Economics). More information on the lecture series can be found here.
