From 23 to 27 May 2020, the annual EYE International Conference hosts the biennial Orphan Film Symposium, in collaboration with NYU Cinema Studies and the Tisch School of the Arts. Taking place at the EYE Film Institute Netherlands in Amsterdam, the event is devoted to saving, studying, and screening neglected audiovisual media. The theme of this edition is ‘Water, Climate, and Migration’. Presenters will address these urgent but perennial subjects by examining how neglected works have represented, imagined, and recorded these intertwined phenomena throughout the history of moving images. The deadline for the call for proposals is 19 November. For more information on the conference, visit the websites of EYE and NYU.
