Expanded Cinema @ University of St. Andrews
The postgraduate Study Day is a yearly conference at the University of St. Andrews, organised by the postgraduate students in Film Studies, which aims to explore aspects in the field of film studies that are not covered by our research projects. The topic of this year’s event, which will be held on 3 April 2013, is ‘Expanded Cinema’. We invite proposals for 15 minute papers. Please send your abstract by 1 March 2013 to: Raluca Iacob (rsi2@st-andrews.ac.uk), Ana Grgic (ag219@st-andrews.ac.uk), and Xavier Tam (syxt@st-andrews.ac.uk).
The keynote speaker for this event is Dr. Wanda Strauven (University of Amsterdam). You can read Strauven’s NECSUS article ‘Early cinema’s touch(able) screens: From Uncle Josh to Ali Barbouyou’ here. Strauven along with Alexandra Schneider (University of Amsterdam) will be the guest editors of NECSUS #4_Autumn 2013_’Waste’.
