Exhibition – ‘Radical Acts of Care’
The Media City Film Festival, an international festival for film and video art, is moving online with a new exhibition space: In the “Dark Dark Gallery”, filmmakers, curators and artists explore the connections between concepts and themes and the history of experimental cinema and contemporary moving image art. The inaugural show ‘Radical Acts of Care’, available until 27 September 2020, has been curated by our managing editor Greg de Cuir Jr. and brings together moving image artworks, poetry, activism and more in a multidisciplinary experience. Featured artworks include artist and filmmaker Cauleen Smith’s COVID Manifesto (2020), a digital restoration of celebrated Iranian poet and film director Forough Farrokhzad’s The House is Black (1962) and Madeline Anderson’s film I Am Somebody (1970).
