Conference – NECS Conference 2022 ‘Epistemic Media: Atlas, Archive, Network’
From 22-26 June 2022, the next NECS Conference will be hosted by the National University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest. The theme ‘Epistemic Media: Atlas, Archive, Network’ invites a reflection on the capacity of audiovisual media to organize, create and challenge human knowledge. Keynotes will be delivered by Georges Didi-Huberman (École des hautes études en sciences sociales, Paris), Sybille Krämer (Freie Universität, Berlin) and Lev Manovich (City University, New York). The local organizing team – Christian Ferencz-Flatz, Andreea Mihalcea, Andrei Rus, Gabriela Suciu, Irina Trocan and our new editorial board member Andrea Virginás – invites proposals exploring historical accounts, morphologies of epistemic media practices, the epistemology of media, methods of knowledge production in media studies, mediated forms of digital knowledge and more. Proposals (300 words) for individual papers, workshops and pre-constituted panels can be submitted until 31 January via the online submission form available here.
