Conference – ‘Journeys: Memory and Migration’
From 10-11 June 2021, the Association of Adaptation Studies will be hosting the conference ‘Journeys: Memory and Migration’ at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. Featuring keynotes by Dr. Dima Ayoub (Middlebury College), Dr. Golnar Nabizadeh (Dundee University) and theatre, television and film director Kenny Glenaan, the international conference is interested in various interpretations of these terms, as well an understanding of adaptation as a mode and methodology. Potential research areas include journeys between different media and/or non-media forms, memories of or in adaptations and the relationship between adaptations/franchises and tourism. Abstracts (250 words) can be submitted until 26 November 2020. In addition to individual contributions, the conference welcomes proposals for round-table discussions or thematically aligned panels of speakers as well as practice-oriented submissions. More information on the conference can be found here.
