Conference – ‘Creative Engagement with Crisis’

November 8, 2020/in News /by Greg DeCuir
Tags: conference, crisis, film, film festival

From 25-28 March 2021, parallel to the RAI Film Festival 2021, an academic conference featuring research in visual anthropology, ethnographic film and adjacent disciplines will be taking place virtually. Within the broad theme ‘Creative Engagement with Crisis’, the conference invites reflections on the notion of crises and the creative engagements with crises: How might research in audiovisual media help us to move beyond disruption? What is the role of creativity in times of crises? Following the previous call for panels, the conference is now accepting individual paper submissions for a line-up of 26 open panels – with topics ranging from “Crisis, Creativity and Ethics: Reflexive Practices and Critical Engagements with ‘Others’ in Times of Uncertainty” to “Critical Play: Smartphones as a Mode of Creative Engagement with Crisis”. The deadline for submissions is 15 November 2020. More information on the conference and the list of panels can be found here.
